Gov. Hogan: Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate drops below 5%

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Maryland’s statewide COVID-19 positivity rate has dropped below 5%, according to Governor Larry Hogan.

Since peaking last month just below 30%, Maryland’s COVID-19 positivity rate has declined by 83% and currently sits at 4.88%. Hospitalizations are at 913 as of Friday morning, down 73% since peaking last month at just under 3,500.

State health officials are continuing to urge Marylanders to get their booster shot this weekend to be eligible for the special $500,000 drawing to kick off the state’s $2 million VaxCash 2.0 Promotion on Tuesday.
