DSP Identify Laurel homicide suspects

PORTSVILLE, Del. – State police say they have arrested one suspect and is currently looking for another.
Investigators say Jerry Reed of Georgetown and Traevon Dixon of Laurel are the suspects involved in the deadly shooting of a 19 year old Laurel man. On Wednesday, troopers responded to the area of Portsville Road and Dogwood Lane, after receiving calls about a male lying on the shoreline.
When police and Sussex County Paramedics arrived to the scene, they found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Further investigation lead detectives to the two suspects. We’re told Dixon was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm. He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $10,000.00 secured bond. Dixon is scheduled for an arraignment on Saturday.
Officials say Jerry Reed has not been located and currently has a warrant out for his arrest.
Both men are facing first degree murder charges.
An investigation is ongoing.
