Man assaulted and robbed at Dover Wawa
DOVER, Del. – Dover Police are currently investigating a report of a robbery at a local convenience store that left a man injured.
Police say the incident occurred around 3 PM Thursday, when a 56-year-old male was approached by three juveniles in the parking lot of the Wawa located at 298 S. DuPont Highway. Two of the suspects reportedly struck the victim in the face/head while the third suspect watched.
The victim briefly lost consciousness, leading the suspects to steal his backpack that contained several miscellaneous items. The suspects were then seen fleeing on foot toward the Capital Green area.
The three suspects were described as black males between the ages of 15 and 18. The first suspect was reportedly wearing tan pants with a gray sweatshirt. The second had black hair with blonde highlights and was wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt, The third suspect was wearing black/blue faded jeans with a black sweatshirt.
The victim was taken to Kent General Hospital and treated for multiple injuries to his head and face. He was later released.
