“We are really focused on just getting out of that trailer:” Leaders hoping to give Pittsville Library a new home
WICOMICO COUNTY, Md.- The Pittsville Library in Wicomico County is looking for a new home.
The Wicomico Public Libraries Executive Director, Seth Hershberger, said the Pittsville branch has utilized a trailer for almost 20 years, but that’s no longer getting the job done, and more space is needed.
Library leaders recently met with the Wicomico County Council to discuss their Capital Improvement Plan for the next 5 years.
They are requesting around $500,000 for the total project, that includes feasibility studies and design work.
Hershberger said right now they are looking for this money to be used to renovate another building that will house the library.
“We are really focused on just getting out of that trailer as soon as possible,” Hershberger said. “We are really excited that there is going to be a place soon in Pittsville, Willards, and Parsonsburg area where it’s really like a library and a nice place for people to come together and there is space for programming.”
Hershberger also said he feels the library should be a resource for everyone in Wicomico county, and making that happen is a big focus for them.
