Police: Traffic stop leads to recovery of loaded firearm

DOVER, Del. – A Dover man was arrested on gun charges following an early morning traffic stop.

Shortly before 2 a.m. Tuesday, officers with the Dover Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 200 block of S. DuPont Highway for a traffic violation. On contact with the driver, identified as George Coulter, the barrel of a handgun was seen sticking out from the center console. Officers subsequently detained Coulter and took the loaded firearm.

Coulter was released on his own recognizance after being charged with carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
