North Caroline’s Season Ends with 33-20 Loss to Elkton

The North Caroline Bulldogs lost to the Elkton Golden Elks 33-20 tonight in the 2-A regional title matchup.
The Elks got off to a commanding 26-0 lead in the first half. Ray Estep was unstoppable for Elkton, rushing for four touchdowns. His individual effort was a huge contribution to the team breaking the school’s rushing record of 2235 yards. In the second quarter, North Caroline came close to getting on the board off of Cody Pepper’s completion to Luke Ruffo, who fumbled the ball just five yards from the end zone. The Elks recovered. The Bulldogs eventually got on the board in the second half when David Bailey Junior ran the ball in for the score. North Caroline’s second score came in the third quarter. Pepper pitched the ball to Bailey Jr who connected with Ruffo, who ran it in for a touchdown. Shortly after, the Elks punctuated their win with yet another Estep touchdown run.
North Caroline’s season comes to an end with the loss.
