Delaware State Police investigating shooting incident in Magnolia

MAGNOLIA, Del. – An early morning shooting incident is under investigation by Delaware State Police.

Troopers were called to respond to the Bayhealth Kent General Hospital at roughly 6:00 AM, for a reported shooting incident. When they arrived, they made contact with a 40-year-old male, who suffered two gunshot wounds as a result of the incident.

The victim reported that at some point between 3:30 AM and 4:00 AM, he stepped outside his residence, located at the 100 block of Lambert Drive, to retrieve his dog that was tied up outside. He reported hearing several gunshots during his time outside, but did not immediately realize that he had been shot.

He realized he had been struck just after stepping back inside his home, and was taken to the hospital by his girlfriend.

Officials later discovered multiple holes towards the front side of the victim’s home.

The victim was treated and has been released from the hospital. At this time, no suspect information is available.
