Md. traffic stop leads to discovery of drugs
SALISBURY, Md. – A weekend traffic stop in Salisbury lead to the arrest of a man on drug charges.
At approximately 9:30 PM on Sunday evening, a deputy stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation on Morris Street at West Road, in Salisbury. The deputy reportedly smelled raw marijuana coming from the car, and conducted a search of the vehicle as a result. During the search, a bag belonging to 19-year-old Jakwon Ennals was located inside.
A subsequent search of the bag led to the discovery of two bags of suspected marijuana, along with two other bags containing what was identified as cocaine. A BB pistol was also found in Ennals’ waistband.
Ennals was arrested and charged with possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS no-marijuana, possession of marijuana over 10 grams, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was taken to the Central Booking Unit, where he was then processed and taken in front of the District Court Commissioner. Following an initial appearance and a District Court bond review, Ennals was detained in lieu of $5,000 bond.
