DOVER, Del.– Down 21-7 at half, the Dover Senators scored 28 unanswered points in the second half to shock the Woodbridge Blue Raiders 35-21.
From the opening kickoff, things got interesting. The Blue Raiders opened the game up with a successful surprise onside kick, and then four plays later they would get on the board after a Jamon Kane fumble in the end zone led to a Brock Keeler recovery.
Kane would eventually get on the board, from two-yards out in the first quarter.
Down 14-0, Dover’s QB Jordan Magee would waste no time, and take the keeper up the middle 75 yards to the house to close the gap to 14-7.
But, Blue Raiders Quarterback Troy Haynes would end the half with a 30 yard dime to Gabe Wescott to make the score 21-7 at halftime.
In the second half, things would turn up a notch. On the first Dover possession of the half, Magee would score his second rushing touchdown of the game on a 40 yard dash, which would make it 21-14.
From there, Dover would have what they needed. After forcing a three-and-out, Junior Running Back Javon Peace got things going. Peace lit up the Blue Raider defense for a reported 194 yards in the second half along with three touchdowns. He would get the game winning score on an 80 yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.
With the win, Dover remains the only undefeated Henlopen North team remaining at 2-0. The loss drops Woodbridge to .500 on the season at 1-1.
