Pair arrested for theft, attempted burglary
DAGSBORO, Del. – Two Dagsboro men have been charged with theft and attempted burglary following an incident Tuesday morning.
At around 9:50 a.m., troopers responded to a residence in Vines Creek Road in Dagsboro for an attempted burglary. It was learned through investigation that two individuals removed three window air conditioning units from a residence and fled the scene in a tan Ford Escort with Delaware registration. After obtaining a tag number, troopers responded to a Dagsboro residence and located the stolen air conditioning units in the front yard. While at the home, troopers saw the suspects driving back to the residence in the tan Ford Escort.
The operator, identified as 27-year-old Aaron Pepe, and passenger, 30-year-old Jason Reuter, were taken into custody, and it was discovered that Pepe was in possession of roughly .07 grams of heroin.
Reuter was released on a $4,500 unsecured bond after being charged with second degree attempted burglary, theft under $1500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older, second degree conspiracy, and criminal mischief under $1000. Police say the injury to his face in his mugshot is not related to this incident and was sustained before being taken into custody.
Pepe was charged with second degree attempted burglary, theft under $1500 where the victim is 62 years of age or older, second degree conspiracy, criminal mischief under $1000, driving while suspended, and possession of a controlled substance. He was held at SCI on a $5,500 secured bond.
