Rehoboth Beach announces new COVID-19 vaccine policy for city employees
REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. – Starting January 3rd, the City of Rehoboth Beach will require that all employees show proof of vaccination against COVID-19 or be tested weekly.
City Manager Sharon Lynn announced the new policy on Tuesday, saying that her decision was made “considering this unrelenting pandemic, the ongoing seasonal surge, and the acute health risks that this situation poses to employees.”
The city defines a fully vaccinated employee as someone who has received two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine or the single shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine, as well as a booster, if eligible. Employees who choose not to get vaccinated will be required to provide weekly negative test results in order to report to work.
The city will host a vaccination clinic on Wednesday, January 5th, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center. The clinic will be open to the public.
City employees will continue to be required to wear masks or shut their office doors while in city facilities.
