Local gun shops say ammo supply is steady despite chain shortages

SALISBURY, Md. – Good news for local hunters, as supply chain issues don’t seem to be affecting your favorite past-time.

We checked in with a local gun shop, Eastern Shore Firearms, and they say their inventory is fairly steady. Owner Robert Baer says compared to last year he has about a third more supply in stock.

He also says that he works with distributors across the country and they typically respond to orders within two or three days, although many higher quality products are tougher to get. Baer also tells us that 90% of his sales come from online and that the problem isn’t the supply but how much he can get.

“I’m limited on how many I can get, that’s one thing. They tell me I’m only allowed two or three items. So they can make sure that everyone gets a few rather than one person buy up everything,” Baer said.

“I feel like it’s been fair to the big guys and little guys. We’re all able to get our orders fulfilled.”

Baer adds that he continues to see progress in the supply chain and expects things to improve.
