Bus passenger arrested on drug charges in Md.

A man was arrested after law enforcement says marijuana was located inside a bus compartment in Maryland.

The Wicomico County Sheriff's Office says on Tuesday, just before 2:00 PM, Sheriff Lewis was patrolling the area of Route 13 Bypass and Snow Hill Road, when he noticed a commercial bus commit a moving violation. Authorities say they then pulled over the bus and requested the assistance of a CDS detection dog. Law enforcement says a Delmar Police K9 assisted and alerted to the odor of CDS coming from the baggage compartment.

According to the report, a large amount of marijuana was found in a bag. Wicomico County authorities say 33-year-old Joe Veale, a passenger, was arrested and charged with for CDS possession with intent to distribute and CDS possession, paraphernalia.  

The Hampton, VA man was taken to central booking and later released on a unsecured bond.
