Free immunization clinics to begin in Somerset Co.
WESTOVER, Md. – Health officials announced that their back to school immunization clinics will begin this week in Somerset County.
The Somerset County Health Department says on their free back to school immunization clinics will be held at 8928 Sign Post Road, in Westover. Officials say all incoming kindergarteners, first, second, third, and fourth grade students are required to have the Varicella (chickenpox vaccine) at age 4. Health officials say students entering the seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, and eleventh grades need to have Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertusis/Whooping cough(TDAP), and Meningococcal(MCV4) vaccines.
According to officials, the free immunization clinics will be held on the following dates and times:
-Tuesday, August 28 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
-Friday, August 31 from 8:30 AM to 12:00 PM
-Friday, September 7 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM
Health officials say parents are required to bring their child’s immunization record with them to the clinic.
