Seagull Circuit race looking to raise money for local YMCA

SALISBURY, Md. – Grab your helmets and racing gloves, the Ocean City Velo club is hosting its first-ever Seagull Circuit Bike Race Saturday.

The Seagull Circuit will benefit the Richard A. Henson area YMCA. Races start at 8:30 AM.

Bikers of all ages are invited out at Salisbury park.

Parking is at the Wicomico County Youth  and Civic Center at 500 Glen avenue.

Cost for adults to race on Saturday is $35 and children under 16 cost $12.

But for kids that want to participate in the kids fun race, that is free and starts at 1:45 in the afternoon.

Sonny Smith, a race organizer says tomorrow’s race is not just about family fun, its also about community engagement at the YMCA.

“We’re teachers in the county so we really take to the kids. We’d like to see any of the proceeds that we can offer to help their programs out. They have a lot of after school programs that help children”

If you’re interested OVC will have same-day registration for junior racers and adults starting at 7:30 in the morning on Saturday.
