fall sports season is just about over saw a few awards come out yesterday.. and even more today yeah that’s right and this is great to see because its really a chance to recognize our athletes for the great seasons they had and they deserve it the 2016 diaa field hockey all-state awards are out and as you might expect, this years big winners went out to the delmar wildcats, following their first ever state championship leading the way was jodi hollamon who was named the coach of the year on top of that, peyton kemp takes home player of the year honors joining kemp on the 1st-team all-state from delmar included ashlyn carr and caitlyn wink finally, hailey bitters earned a spot on the 2nd-team all-state list cape was well represented as well.. alia marshall and annie judge both make the 1st-team, while judy boyer earned 2nd-team consideration milford had a break through season… darby brennan earned 1st-team all-state because of it, while rajene bowe and kate melvin earned 2nd-team as for polytech camryn dennis makes 1st-team, madilyn mckay makes 2nd, and mackenzie estrada earns honorable mention finally, 2 players from sussex tech make the list this year kira short makes 2nd-team, while bridgette johnson earns honorable mention all-state as well taking it to the college level some honors going out to the s-u field hockey team today with the release of the 2016 ecac south all-stars sea gulls head coach dawn chamberlin was named the coach of the year on top of that, three players earned 2nd-team honors that list included pocomoke grad annah brittingham, hannah miller and becca rinaca and a very nice honor going out to one s-u volleyball player today katie stouffer was named the e-c-a-c offensive player of the year that comes after the senior finished off her career with another great season… finishing with 444 kills this season, while breaking the program record for career kills with over 17 hundred and basketball season is starting to heat up.. and don’t look now, but s-u’s mens team is off to a blazing start the 4-0 sea gulls are coming off their best win of the season… an 8 point win on the road virginia weslyan, who were ranked 16th at the time s-u gets right back to work tonight as they are set to host st. mary’s at 7:30 and got to give a shoutout to one of our former shore standouts that is getting it done at the next level delmar grad booter ellis is coming off another great season for william and mary… earning 2nd-team all-region honors that’s it for sports – more news and weather straight ahead. stay with us. catch more of the action on our sports page
