Chincoteague Police release musical mash-up in lip sync battle video

The lip sync battle has reached Accomack County as Chincoteague police officers are featured in the department's video.

We're told the assistant chief of police and one of the dispatchers got the idea of filming their own lip sync video a couple of weeks ago, and the police chief gave them the go ahead.

On Tuesday, the Chincoteague Police Department released their lip sync battle video after receiving several song suggestions. The video included a mash-up of songs as officers pitched their song choices.

One pitch included "Save A Horse [Ride A Cowboy]".

Another song was "Whatever It Takes" by Imagine Dragons. We're told that song was chosen because of the lyrics.

The Police Chief said the department had a blast creating the video.

Chief Randy Mills said, "They probably, I would say, the planning and the videoing and the taping probably took a week, it was just with everything they had a time where we went over to the lighthouse and then they did some videos out in town with the chairs and the statues and all that stuff and did some in here and they put it all together."

The police department hopes their video shows they are regular guys just like everyone else.

The Chincoteague Police Department has challenged Emporia, VA Police Department, The Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel Police Department and the Accomack County Sheriff's Office.
