Police: Teen causes over $9K worth of property damage at Del. police dept.

A teen was arrested after police say he damaged property last month at a Delaware police department. 

The Laurel Police Department says on Wednesday, officers arrested an 16-year-old male at his high school for felonious criminal mischief to Laurel Police Department property in March 2018. 

According to the report, the teen entered the Laurel Police Department parking lot and intentionally damaged several fully marked patrol vehicles before fleeing from the scene. The 16-year-old reportedly left behind numerous pieces of trace evidence that police say resulted in the successful identification of the teen.

Police report that the juvenile's actions caused over $9000 in body and equipment damage to the vehicles. 

The 16-year-old was arraigned at Sussex County Family Court. He was then placed into the the custody of the state in lieu of $5000 secure bail.
