Alleged Easter killer no stranger to law enforcement

Wednesday's arrest of suspected killer, Jameal Gould, wasn't the first time he's been placed in handcuffs. In fact, Jameal Gould actually has a long history of run ins with the law in Salisbury.

A history that dates back to 2000. Starting when he was 19-years-old, during a three year stretch, Gould would find himself in handcuffs three times.

Twice for possession with intent to distribute cocaine and once for assault. In the end, Gould would take a plea deal only spending less than two years behind bars.

But in 2010 that's when Gould dove deeper into the criminal underworld. Federal agents pinned him as the leader of a drug ring, this time dealing crack cocaine. Five kilos of it, according to federal documents. This also happening in Salisbury.

In 2012, Gould would be sentenced to over 14 years in federal prison, a sentence that in end he would barely serve half of.

Through a set of appeals and a change in law, Gould would end up getting four years knocked off which lowered his sentence to just 10 years.

Ultimately Jameal got his release from prison in November of 2017. That's just five months prior to him allegedly taking the life of the woman he fathered a child with. Leaving Erica Gould's children without a mother and landing him back behind bars at least for now.

As Gould is still entitled to his day in court. However this go around, he will have to appear for the alleged murder of Erica Gould, but also for violating the terms of his probation from his federal prison sentence.
