Saints take third straight regional title

Behind two bases loaded walks, the St. Michaels Saints are taking home their third straight 1A East Regional title, 4-3 over Colonel Richardson.

The Colonels struck first in the bottom of the second, when Jackie Zebron launched a home run to left.

But, a bases loaded walk tied things up for the Saints in the third. In the same inning, Brodie Steen slapped a two-run double to put the Saints up 3-1.

CR would tie things up in the 5th when Jacob Towers would cross home on the fielders choice.

But, a walk in the 6th would be the deciding factor as the defending state champs sneak by in Federalsburg.

St. Michaels draws McDonough in the state semis on Tuesday in Frederick.
