Giving Tuesday kicks-off the season of giving
SALISBURY, Md.- Giving Tuesday is typically celebrated the Tuesday following Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Cyber Monday. But non-profits typically notice an increase in donations all throughout November and December.
Erica Joseph is the executive director for the Community Foundation of the Eastern Shore, which assists in connecting donors to local non-profits.
“We just encourage people this time of year as much as they can to give themselves as generously as they can.” Said Joseph.
For those who don’t know where or how to donate their time or money, CFES suggests their year round local non-profit fundraising site.
“It is important and meaningful to be able to support our non-profit partners in the community.” Said Joseph. “One way you can do that is through shoregives365.org. Everybody there is local, but really it’s your time, your service, your thought about the community.”
Whether it’s lending a helping hand, or a few extra dollars, the holiday months are the perfect time to give back to the community.
