(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – Dorchester County is getting ready for one of the biggest weekends of the fall, and they’re hoping for plenty of wind.

The 20th annual Kite Festival at Sailwinds Park kicks off this Sunday, October 18th.

Kite flyers from all over come out every year to enjoy the fall weather on the banks of the Choptank River.

And organizer, Chad Malkus is hoping for some good kite flying weather.

Chad tells WMDT, “Fingers crossed. The weather will, work out for us and, you know, the kite fliers, they, the, they put up the big kites, and they need a lot of wind, but not too much wind.”

The Kite Festival at Sailwinds Park kicks off Sunday at noon.
