Nearly $250K Awarded to Upgrade East Wicomico Little League Facilities

SALISBURY, Md. – The Maryland Board of Public Works has awarded $247,500 in funding for improvements to the East Wicomico Little League facilities through the state’s Program Open Space Local Share program.

The funding, approved during the Board of Public Works meeting on Oct. 7, will support several improvements designed to enhance the facilities for young athletes, their families, and the community. Planned improvements include the following:

• New fencing and facility upgrades
• Restroom and concession stand improvements
• Ballfield improvements
• Updated signage
• Landscaping enhancements

Wicomico County Executive Julie Giordano announced the funding on Thursday, calling it “another great investment in our community and, most importantly, in our children”.
