Kent Co. Emergency Services Hosts Stop the Bleed Demonstration

DOVER, Del. – The Kent County Office of Emergency Services joined the End Community Violence Now Summit to hold training sessions on CPR and techniques to stop severe bleeding during an emergency.

Its all for Stop the Bleed– a nationally recognized program that teaches people how to control and stop life-threatening bleeding during emergencies before paramedics arrive.

In trauma care, bleeding injuries are the leading cause of preventable death, and emergency officials say knowing how to respond during those emergencies is crucial.

“First call 9-1-1,” Dr. Chen said. “And so if you are there when something happens, you literally again could save someone’s life. Just two hands in order to buy them time to get to the hospital and keep them alive.”
