Easton Police Launch Prostitution, Human Trafficking Investigation Into Jasmine Spa
EASTON, Md. – The Easton Police Department (EPD) has made an arrest in connection with an active human trafficking and prostitution investigation they’ve launched into Jasmine Spa.
Officers arrested 55-year-old Tianjun Huang of Flushing, New York on two counts of prostitution and three other prostitution-related charges. According to court documents obtained by WMDT, she was released from custody after posting a $2,000 unsecured personal bond.
The arrest stemmed from an investigation launched by EPD in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Investigators began looking into the spa’s operations after receiving complaints of suspicious activity occurring at Jasmine Spa; specifically stating that sexual acts were being conducted in exchange for money at the business.
On Wednesday, Oct. 7, an undercover agent was sent into Jasmine Spa. After receiving a massage, police say the agent was solicited with a sexual act by an Asian female, later identified as Huang. The agent declined, left the establishment, and detectives subsequently obtained a search and seizure warrant for Jasmine Spa. The following day, EPD members, Homeland Security Investigators and the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office executed the warrant the search and seizure warrant and identified Huang as the proprietor of Jasmine Spa.
A second Asian female from New York and a client in the establishment were also identified. Both of them were interviewed and released without charges. While searching the establishment, investigators reportedly found evidence consistent with illegal operations.
