Dorchester Health Dept. Offering Spanish DWI/DUI Program

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – The Dorchester County Health Department is opening up language options for some first-time offenders.

The Health Department announced they’re holding a Spanish-language DWI and DUI education program for the first time.

The six week course is being offered with help through the Chesapeake Multicultural Resource Center for first time offenders.

When asked, the Health Department says this change helps to ensure those who’ve been charged can even be given the path to get back on the road.

“Most of the individuals that participate in the DUI program, it’s court order. So it’s important that they be able to access the program. So we’re very excited to be able to serve our Spanish speaking community. I do think that it’s important because they, you know, we all deserve quality programming,” says Director of Behavioral Health, Angela Grove.
