Del-Tech Cuts the Ribbon on New Seaford Innovation Center
SEAFORD, Del.– The new innovation center is designed to help expand Del-Tech’s training programs in western Sussex County.
Del-Tech’s Executive Vice President Justina Thomas says she believes education plays a key par when it comes to being sucessful.
“I believe education is one of the most powerful levers for social mobility and life sucess,” Thomas said. “Delaware Tech is committed to offering training programs for high school students and adult learners. We also offer dual enrollment credit courses like math and english at the innovation center.”
State Representative for the 39th District Danny Short says today’s ribbon cutting is a sign of resurgence in the Seaford community.
“I think it’s kind of like a signal to our community that we really are a resurgent coming back,” Short said. “To have an entity like Del-Tech in our community physically, it sends a real strong signal that there’s a lot going on again.”
At the end of the day the new innovation center is meant to bring opportunities to people in western Sussex County that weren’t available to them before.
“This is a public-private partnership,” Short said. “Del-Tech has contributed to this effort, creating opportunities for people to grow in ways they otherwise might not have.”
Del-Tech officials say that the new innovation center is not only bringing new opportunities to students, it is also helping revitalize the Seaford community.
