City Minute: What’s Happening in October
SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s City Minute, WMDT’s Haley Rae and City of Salisbury’s Economic Development Manager Derek Jarmon discuss what Halloween festivities are in store for Downtown Salisbury this October.
This month’s Third Friday is the annual Boo Bash! From 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Oct. 16, Downtown Salisbury will be full of frightening festivities for the whole family. Attendees are encouraged to visit the local artisans and groups lining Main Street, as well as spend some time exploring Downtown’s shops and restaurants. Costumes are encouraged for kids and adults alike!
But the Halloween festivities don’t end there! Come out the following weekend for Downtown Rock & Fright! This brand new event runs from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, and will feature a stage with live music, along with dance performances by the Creative Movement and Salisbury University dancers. There will also be a trunk-or-treat and a Halloween movie for the kids!
And, on Sunday, Oct. 25, the Salisbury Jaycees will host their annual Treat Street event, providing a safe and fun opportunity for kids aged 12 or under to trick-or-treat in Downtown Salisbury. Local businesses and community groups will be present to hand out candy to all costumed kids attending — including WMDT! All children must be accompanied by an adult.
