BVSPCA’s Bark On The Boards Event Returns to Rehoboth Beach

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del.– Bark on the Boards is an annual fundraiser and pet-colaboration in Rehoboth with the goal of raising awareness and finding forever homes for shelter animals.

Senior Director Sara Smith of the Brandywine Valley SPCA says that there is something for everybody to enjoy when it comes to this event.

“We are so greatful at the Brandywine Valley SPCA to continue this legacy,” Smith said. “It’s the best block party, the most pet-friendly block party that we bring to the bandstand, and we just invite everybody out to take part of this and have fun and raise money to help animals in need.”

Smith also says that the donations from the Bark on the Boards event is what makes the work that they do possible.

“The Brandywine Valley SPCA is it’s own organization,” Smith said. “We are not connected with any other organization that backs our work, so we have to raise all the money ourselves to be able to care for all of these animals.”

For volunteer Barbara Ewing, she loves volunteering for this event because of the community support.

“I love working Bark on the Boards,” Ewing said. “It’s such a fun event to come to, and we usually end up with the puppies and to just be with the animals is so great.”

Organizers say the goal behind Bark on the Boards event is to raise money and give people a chance to meet their new forever best friend.

The event runs from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on the Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk.
