Worcester County Sheriff Matt Crisafulli Sworn in As President of Maryland Sheriffs’ Association

SNOW HILL, Md. – The Maryland Sheriffs’ Association has elected a new president, and it’s one of Worcester County’s own. Sheriff Matt Crisafulli was elected and sworn in as the president of the association on September 23rd.

The role of the president is to advocate for sheriffs across the state and address issues impacting the communities they serve.

“We’re in a position to not only be able to assist our own organizations, but in looking at the big picture and the landscape across the entire state.” Said Crisafulli. “We have a duty, and we have an obligation to every law enforcement officer in the entire state of Maryland.”

Sheriff Crisafulli said that one of his top priorities as president, is to work with lawmakers in Annapolis to reduce recidivism.

“But we also have to look at accountability.” Said Crisafulli. “That is a word that doesn’t get enough attention throughout the entire state. We need to make sure that we are holding criminal offenders accountable for their actions to hopefully reduce recidivism.”

Crisafulli succeeds former president Sheriff Gary Hofmann of the Queen Anne’s County Office of the Sheriff.
