Pocomoke City Appoints New Chief of Police

Pocomoke City, Md. — The Pocomoke City Council appointed Richard “Andy” McGee as the new chief of the Pocomoke City Police Department (PCPD) during a city council meeting Monday night. McGee comes to the role with over three decades of law enforcement experience, including a three-year stint at the start of his career as a patrol officer with the PCPD.

Pocomoke City Mayor Todd Nock said the appointment is a full circle moment due to McGee’s first role being with the department. City Councilmember C.L. Marshall said that he had heard that a role with the PCPD would be both McGee’s first and last positions.

McGee also has served in roles in the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, and has been chief of the Snow Hill Police Department since 2019.
