Milford Advocacy for the Homeless Fights Food Insecurity

MILFORD, Del.– A Sussex County nonprofit is lending a hand to individuals and families facing homelessness and poverty.

Milford Advocacy for the Homeless connects people facing financial hardships and housing insecurity with the resources they need to thrive– like food, advocacy, and community support.

The organization– run entirely by volunteers– wants to remind those struggling that they don’t have to face food insecurity alone.

But Officials say nothing they do would be possible without the support from the community.

“There’s a lot of homeless now, it’s growing, it’s not going away. And so we’re giving as much as we can, as much food as we can,” Dawe said. “Thankfully, we get to partner with other organizations that can provide food. And of course, our community we can’t do anything without our community.”
