“Full Day Radiothon” Looks to Support Delmarva Discovery Museum Following Re-Opening Efforts

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Delmarva Discovery Museum is continuing their fundraising efforts with a radiothon with GSB Media.

This comes after the museum faced financial struggles earlier this year that forced the beloved museum to close it’s doors.

Christy Gordon, the director of the museum, said the summer was very successful.

“Very busy, a lot of people in here, thousands of people in here.” Said Gordon.

But the director also emphasized, that the off-season brings separate struggles for the non-profit.

“School started two weeks ago and the kids went back to school and the tourists have headed back home.” Said Gordon. “And we’ve seen very quickly in two weeks just a drop in visitors. So we’re trying to think of things that would raise money besides people coming in the door.”

The Radiothon is set for Tuesday, September 15th, from 6am to 6pm, and will feature multiple DJ’s and various guests. The event will be broadcasted on GSB Media’s WOW That’s Country on WOWZ 99.2 FM, WICO 101.1FM and Bay Country, WBEY 97.9 FM, as well as online at WOWthatscountry.com and Baycountry.com.
