Discover Delmarva Arts: Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival

REHOBOTH BEACH, del. — The weather in Rehoboth Beach might be cooling down, but the music is heating up! The Rehoboth Beach Jazz Festival is making its return this fall with a jam-packed lineup of world-renowned jazz musicians who are sure to wow the crowd.

“We do 25 shows, four days, and five venues. We constantly have shows going on. . . We have Boney James, Brian Culbertson, [and] Najee, all in one weekend,” Vice President Larry DeFrancisco said.

While the music is what brings people together, the non-profit is also giving back to the community — with proceeds going towards care for children with disabilities, cancer research and treatment, and music programs for kids. That includes things like musical instruments, lessons, and workshops for children who hope to one day join the musicians on stage themselves.

“Anything we can do to educate and support musical instruments, free lessons to the less fortunate children — it’s a win-win. . . Sometimes we bring the young artists up on stage and let them play with the bands.”

It’s more than a weekend of jazz; its music with a purpose, and a festival that continues to give back long after the final note. “Come check us out. You’ll be surprised; it’s Mardi Gras in October. . . Our shows are world renowned and they’re world class, and you’ll walk away going, ‘are you kidding me? They do that in Rehoboth?'”
