City Minute: Newton Community Center Afterschool Program

SALISBURY, Md. – In this week’s City Minute, WMDT’s John Trout and Salisbury’s Community Relations Manager Rachel Manning discuss some of the City’s programs and resources available for families this fall.

The Newton Community Center is offering a free afterschool program for youth aged eight to 18 years. The program runs Monday through Thursday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., with something different happening each day. Manning says Mondays are based on gaming, Tuesdays are art, Wednesdays will focus on wellness, and Thursdays are all about STEM. It’s a great opportunity for young people to learn, have fun, and connect with others in a safe environment!

But the City’s community centers aren’t just for youth programs — residents can also rent space at Newton and Truitt Street Community Centers. Residents interested in renting these spaces can find more information on the City’s website, here.
