UPDATE: Two Juveniles Arrested for Shots Fired at Occupied Home

UPDATE: The Dover Police Department has arrested two juveniles in connection with a shooting that occurred last week in Dover.

During an extensive investigation, detectives reviewed security footage from the Brandywine Court Apartments on Par Haven Drive, which captured two young Black males exiting a building within the apartment complex approximately four minutes before the shooting. Police say the suspects left the building while appearing to conceal objects in their waistbands as they walked toward a nearby trail to a retention pond where shell casings were later recovered. After the shooting, police observed the juveniles quickly returning from the trail and re-entering the same building.

Through investigative efforts, detectives identified the 17-year-old and 16-year-old male suspects. They were both arrested and charged with possessing a firearm during the commission of a felony, first degree reckless endangerment, second degree conspiracy, and related charges. They are both being held at the Stevenson House Detention Center. 

The shooting remains under investigation.

DOVER, Del. – The Dover Police Department is investigating a shots fired incident that occurred Wednesday evening.

On Jul. 29, at 6:30 p.m., officers responded to the 200 block of Pebble Valley Drive for a report of shots fired. Upon arrival, officers located damage to a residence consistent with gunfire.

An investigation determined that multiple rounds were fired from an area near a nearby retention pond, striking the residence. One round traveled through the front window and through the interior of the home before lodging in a rear wall. A second round was recovered by detectives inside the residence, and multiple shell casings were found near the retention pond.

At the time of the incident, a 40-year-old male was inside the residence. He was not injured. Detectives do not believe he or the home was intentionally targeted.
