Thunder on the Choptank Roars Across the Water
(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – Boaters are gearing up for some high speed thrills in Dorchester County this weekend.
Viewers can expect to see boats zipping across the surface of the Choptank over 100 miles per hour.
It’s all happening as the 9th annual Thunder on the Choptank takes place to close out the summer.
Power boat racers are gearing up for better weather this weekend, unlike earlier this summer when a little rain played a factor.
And the Dorchester County Chamber of Commerce is excited to see these boats cruise at high speeds.
“We’re really proud to be helping and, supporting the Kent Narrows Racing Association, for this big event, which is kind of one of the last events or this season of activity on the water,” says Dorchester Chamber President, Alessandro Nardi.
If you’re looking to catch a day of seeing these power boats practically fly across the Choptank, you’ll have a chance on bth Saturday and Sunday as festitivities get underway both mornings at 11:30 at Gerry Boyle Park.
