Frozen Farmers Ice Cream

DEWEY BEACH, Del.– The Frozen Farmer blends third-generation family farming with delicious ice cream flavors. Now, a second location in Dewey beach is making the treat more accessible to Sussex County.

Katey Evans says they started the Frozen Farmer as a way to cut back on food waste.

“We started our business as a way to reduce our own farm waste,” Evans said. “By using misfit fruit or cosmetically imperfect fruit in our line of frozen confections and we’ve heard a lot of people say that they can really taste that homemade farm fresh difference.”

Customer Maria Long says that trying new ice cream shoppes is one of her favorite things to do while on vacation. She thinks making the Frozen Farmer’s second location in Dewey the perfect stop for beachgoers.

“My husband loves ice cream,” Long said. “We kind of pretty much go around and try out the different ice cream joints.”

Since their grand opening, Evans says that the response from the Dewey Beach Community has been nothing but positive.

“After we opened on Saturday the incredible welcome that we’ve had from the community here in Dewey it’s absolutely certain we’ve found that home feeling here.” Evans said.

Here in Dewey the summer season isn’t complete without a frozen treat.
