(TALBOT CO. Md) – September is Overdose Awareness Month and one Mid-Shore Community is getting a head start.

The Talbot County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting their 10th annual “Talbot Goes Purple” event on August 31st to kick off Overdose Awareness Month.

Attendees can hear from those who’ve overcome addiction, learn about resources and take part in a memorial ceremony for those lost.

“There’s gonna be all sorts of resources out there to help you understand, help the community understand a little better what’s going on in our communities and how to prevent our young people from getting engaged in some of this activity,” says Talbot County Sheriff, Joe Gamble.

Talbot County Goes Purple will take place on Monday, August 31st at Anchor Church in Easton from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.
