Shorerivers Recognized for Monitoring Program

(EASTON, Md) – A group geared towards monitoring waterways throughout the Chesapeake Watershed is getting a boost.

Shorerivers, based out of Talbot County has been recognized by the Chesapeake Monitoring Cooperative and the Maryland Department of the Environment as a Tier three bacteria monitoring program.

Tier three is considered the highest level of data quality and offers up opportunities for expanded research.

And Shorerivers is excited about being able to survey more waterways.

Shorerivers’ Watershed Scientist, Becky Golden tells WMDT, “It makes us proud that we are, you know, one of the few community science based, restoration groups that have this certification and were really hopeful that this data then can be used to, you know, improve water quality on the Eastern Shore.”
