Rep. Andy Harris Announces $99M Defense Contract for Pocomoke-Based Company

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – Congressman Andy Harris, M.D. (MD-01) announced on Monday evening that an advanced manufacturing company based in Worcester County has been awarded a $99 million defense contract. 

Hardwire, LLC, based in Pocomoke City, provides a wide array of defense manufacturing services. WMDT previously reported on the company’s contract with the United States Marine Corps to manufacture lightweight body armor plates, in addition to creating ultra-low visibility body armor for the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

“Hardwire continues to create skilled manufacturing jobs and expand defense production in Maryland’s First District,” Congressman Harris said. “The company will produce steel and titanium components for armored military vehicles supporting our men and women in uniform.”

In Mar. 2025, Congressman Harris announced a similar $416 million defense contract through the U.S. Army.
