Hickory Ridge Farm Show

BIG STONE BEACH, Del.– Hickory Ridge farm is a non-profit that carries on traditional farming outside Milford Delaware.
There eighth annual farm show runs through the last weekend in August. Owner of the farm Russell Geyer says that this event is important to him because it takes him back to his childhood.
“Well I grew up here, I grew up doing this,” Geyer said. “We bought the property several years ago and decided to bring the show back.
The weekend event is free and has craft vendors, food and drinks, live music and a display of vintage tractors.
Attendee John Weatherall says that he wouldn’t miss this show for the world.
“We’ve been doing this show for years,”Weatherall said. “And it was just the cat’s meow just one of the best shows I’ve ever went to.”
Weatherall also shares that working on vintage cars has been a hobby of his for many decades.
“I’ve been working on antique cars for a long time, probably around twenty five to thirty years” Weatherall said.
The event this weekend is dedicated to Jimmy Lyons one of Geyer’s close friends and he hopes that the community can walk away with new memories of their own.
“Memories,” Geyer said. “I like seeing the older people stand here and talk about the past and we do this for the community.”
