Discover Delmarva Arts: Clear Space Theatre Presents Mean Girls

Mean Girls

REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. — This summer, clear space theatre in Rehoboth Beach is putting on a show full of pink, drama, and powerhouse vocals — bringing the iconic story of Mean Girls to the stage with plenty of laughs, big personalities, and of course, a little high school chaos.

“Mean Girls is your classic high school story where the new girl just wants to fit in and make friends, and very quickly gets intercepted by the popular girls, the mean girls,” Actress of Ms. Norbury and Marketing Manager Gabrielle Glanville said.

The show revolves around Cady and The Plastics — a group of girls who rule the school’s halls. But when Cady gets pulled into their world, she quickly learns that being popular can come with a whole lot of drama.

“Cady grew up in Africa with her mom who’s a biologist and she understands that world, but then she moves to Illinois and doesn’t really understand the social structure,” Actress of Cady Kylee Brown said.

The show is full of high energy choreography, powerhouse vocals, punchy lines, and plenty of laughs. “I love the choreography — it is so modern, and it is so much fun to do. The energy is so high,” Glanville said.

And the cast has had plenty of fun along the way. “It’s a blast to be a part of. The rehearsal process went so fast just because we were all so excited to be there,” Actress of Regina George Beanna Limerise said.

“It’s been very fun to play Cady,” Brown said.

The cast has had plenty of time to bond, too. “Clear space has put together such an amazing group of performers,” Brown said.

“Everyone is so incredibly talented, but on top of that, we have such a kind group of people,” Limerise said.

Mean Girls is running at Clear Space Theatre until August 29th. To purchase tickets, visit https://www.clearspacetheatre.org/upcomingshows/mean-girls
