Della’s Closet Brings Back to School Support Through Clothing Free of Charge

POCOMOKE CITY, Md. – As back to school shopping begins, Della’s Closet is helping children get all of their clothes for the new year, free of charge.

Della’s closet in Pocomoke City runs completely on generosity, from the volunteers who fold and organize the items, to the giving members of the community who donate.

Joshua Nordstrom is the Chief Operating Officer at Della’s Closet, and emphasized the importance of the donations, especially this time of year.

“We want all of the students, in this area to have the same opportunities to go back to school, to to feel comfortable and confident with clothes that fit and are good, nice and clean.” Said Nordstrom. “To give them the best chance to learn and the best chance to succeed.”

Cresandre Corbin is a long time volunteer, and explains that a simple closet cleanout can create the first day of school outfit a child feels confident in.

“Just because they might not want to wear it anymore, somebody else can wear it, and they’ll be happy with wearing it. ” Said Corbin. “And they do.”

Della’s closet, and Joshua Nordstrom, are reminding people that one child’s old clothes, are another kids new wardrobe.

“You know, kids grow so they outgrow their clothes, and people are always looking for places to send them.” Said Nordstrom.  “You know, ‘what do I do with these bags of clothes that I have?’ And I’m saying, you know, as long as they’re just gently used. Bring them to us. We’ll make sure that they get to the right place.”
