“Artists Paint OC” Showcases The Work of 50 Talented Artists
OCEAN CITY, Md. – The art league is hosting their 21st annual Artists Paint OC from Aug. 12th – 16th. The festival is where artists partake in “Plein Air”, a style which is french for “In the Open Air.”
Art League Executive Director Rina Thaler says that the wide array of artwork highlights the beautiful landscapes right here on Delmarva.
“This shows everything that is here, whether it’s the marshes, the beaches, the bays, the the harbor area and everything that this Eastern Shore lifestyle has to offer.” Said Thaler. “So it really highlights the beauty of our, Maryland’s coast.”
Art critics and enjoyers aren’t the only ones who appreciate this form of painting, The 50 artists competing, such as Mason D’Aleo, enjoy it too.
“I love painting anything to do with water because it’s therapeutic to me.” Said D’Aleo. “I go outside and the sun, everything. Water makes me happy. And the clouds, you know, they have dramatic moments. The water does, too.”
The window for painting closes Saturday and the work will be on display at the gallery. D’Aleo reflects on another year of making new masterpieces, and beloved memories.
“I want to relive this over and over again.” Said D’Aleo. “I can’t wait till next year to do it. It’s amazing. I’ve met friends. I’ve met like long time people that I will love to paint with and hopefully do this year after year.”
The wet paint sales take place on Saturday, Aug. 15th, from 5-7pm and Sunday Aug. 16th from 1-3pm. For more information, visit https://artleagueofoceancity.org/artists-paint-oc-2/
