Vacant Building Fire Under Investigation in Georgetown

GEORGETOWN, Del. – Multiple fire companies responded to a fire that extended to a structure on Wednesday night in Georgetown.

Crews with the Georgetown Fire Company and Milton Fire Department responded to the 300 block of North Railroad Avenue to find an abandoned structure fully involved in flames. GFC says the scene they repsonded to is “a type 5 structure with small explosions reported inside,” along with flames extending into nearby woods along the railroad tracks.

No injuries were reported. The Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
