Marion Station Man Killed in Worcester Co. Crash

WORCESTER COUNTY, Md. – The Maryland State Police and the Pocomoke City Police Department are investigating a fatal two-vehicle crash that occurred Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 3:00 p.m. on Jun. 30, troopers from the Berlin Barrack responded to southbound Route 13 at the intersection of Holland Road for a report of a two-vehicle crash. A preliminary investigation indicates that a Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling east on Holland Road and attempting to cross the intersection, when for unknown reasons, it was struck by a Toyota Venza.

The driver of the Jeep, identified as 53-year-old David Loveland, Jr., of Marion Station, Maryland, was killed in the crash.

The driver and passenger of the Toyota, a 37-year-old female and 34-year-old male, were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment of their injuries.

Lanes were closed for more than three hours for the crash investigation. Personnel from the Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration assisted with the closure.
