Law Enforcement Urges Safe Driving Heading into Holiday Weekend

(CAMBRIDGE, Md) – With the holiday weekend kicking off this evening, you can expect to see the roads packed over the next few days.

Maryland is expected to see heavy traffic as people are celebrating Independence Day at the beach.
This also drastically increases the chances for accidents on the road.

One local Police Department is urging people to practice one thing that way everyone can get to their July 4th celebrations safely.

“Number one, pack your patience. You know, there’s going to be heavy traffic on the roadways. There’s a chance there could be backups. And two, you know, don’t be distracted. Make sure you’re off your cell phones. You’re keeping an eye on the road. For breaking that type of thing,” says Cambridge Police Chief, Justin Todd.
