Hurlock Prepares to Open Historical Museum
(HURLOCK, Md) – The Town of Hurlock is preparing to open the doors of their new history museum on July 4th.
The museum documents the history of Hurlock and rural Dorchester County, including the trains that make their way through the town.
One of the main attractions at the plethora of documents and records that have been donated.
Officials say the new museum will also help breathe life back into the town’s old train station, which would seldom see use for most of the year.
“Before this, our train station was only open for the fall Fest. Now, with volunteers helping and giving their time to open it, we’re looking at maybe once, twice a week to have it open and some more times if we can make those arrangements with volunteers to help us do that,” says Mayor, Earl Murphy.
The plan is to continue adding historical documents to the museum after opening to the public.
