Historic Furnace Town Cancels 2026 Renaissance Faire Over Costs
SNOW HILL, Md. – Historic Furnace Town has made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Renaissance Faire amid financial challenges facing the site.
“This decision was not made lightly and reflects the current challenges facing our organization, including limited sponsorship support and reduced financial resources needed to successfully produce an event of this size and quality,” the historic site said in a post to social media. “We are deeply grateful to our vendors, performers, volunteers, sponsors, and guests who have supported this event over the years and helped make it a success.”
The Renaissance Faire has become one of Furnace Town’s most beloved events, bringing history, creativity, and community together while attracting visitors from near and far. Organizers say the postponement will allow Furnace Town to focus resources on sustaining their mission, preserving the historic site, and ensuring that when the Renaissance Faire returns in Sept. 2027, it will “provide the engaging and memorable experience our community has come to expect.”
